Mumbrella Travel Marketing Awards

Earlier this month, our Director Todd had the opportunity to get a “slice of the pie action,” attending the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Awards. He accompanied our client and friend, Steve Rosa, on behalf of Destination Southern Highlands for Pie Time 2019. Connecting with Australia’s top travel brands, publishers and agencies showed that regional tourism promotion is alive and well and can swing with the big hitters in town every day of the week.

Todd also got a chance to have a chat with our national queen of travel media and marketing, Catriona Rowntree. Check out what she had to say here.

National Tourism Awards

Further celebrating all things related to national tourism marketing, some of the team also attended the 2019 National Tourism Awards Gala Dinner. Where our client YMCA Canberra Leumeah Lodge, took home Silver in the Standard Accommodation category. The best result for the Canberra region! We are also proud to say our client the National Museum of Australia scored a bronze for Rome City + Empire in the Major Festivals and Events category.  Well done to everyone who entered.

#IWD2020 celebrating the women of Threesides

This month we had an opportunity to take a moment to celebrate all the wonderful, intelligent and exceptional ladies that contribute to the Threesides team, for International Women’s Day. As the quote goes, “Here’s to strong women: May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.”

Majority of global marketers are choosing to delay campaigns

As the coronavirus outbreak continues to grow and impact businesses both locally and on a global-scale, many businesses are choosing to delay campaigns, review budgets and pause key product launches. At Threesides we encourage all our clients to be looking at future planning their marketing now. Think about recovery marketing, how your business can operate and innovate under the current climate, and what it will look like post Covid-19.

People give a cr*p about toilet paper!

To finish on a lighter COVID-19 note. As you would be aware, panic buying has resulted in a national toilet paper shortage. Toilet paper ecommerce has boomed, #ToiletPaperEmergency is trending on Twitter and this topical theme seems to be a constant across all Australian news “rolls”.

While this has admittedly come with some stress and strange Woolworths-based altercations, from a marketing perspective we have seen some extremely creative, timely and exciting responses delivered, from a variety of different organisations and within the media.

Read more about them here.

That’s a wrap for this month! Until next month, stay healthy and wash your hands. We are here to support you should you need any help in product innovation, media/PR responses and/or marketing strategy restructures. Reach out to us at any stage.
