Celebrate the season, support local farmers and taste the best of Canberra’s summer produce at Capital Region Farmers Market Summer Harvest events – some in NEW locations!

The Capital Region Farmers Market is celebrating the vibrant flavours of the season with Summer Harvest, a series of on and offsite summer themed markets running from November 2025 to February 2026.

“Our farmers, growers, producers and makers really need your support to come in and buy all the results of their hard work – their fresh summer bounty,” said Capital Region Farmers Market Manager, Sarah Power.

“Canberrans are invited to come to Market to shop for the best in fresh summer produce, support our farmers and producers who bring the freshest summer produce to our tables, from glossy cherries and sun-ripened stone fruit to Christmas hams, seafood and artisan treats,” Sarah continued.

The Summer Harvest launch featuring Cherry Day will kick off Summer Harvest events on Saturday 29 November at EPIC, marking the official start of cherry season and the first event in a packed calendar of summer celebrations at the Market.

Cherry Day will feature the first haul of fresh cherries for the season, the annual cherry pip-spitting contest, lots of cherry themed produce, and door prizes for lucky market-goers to win boxes of cherries throughout the morning.

“We can’t wait for the cherry pip-spitting contest to see if someone can beat last year’s winner. That was an impressive 6 metres!” continued Sarah.

In the coming weeks Capital Region Farmers Market will be relocating due to the Spilt Milk Festival taking over at EPIC. The Market’s ‘Away Game’ will be held on Saturday 13 December at GIO Stadium, and will feature all the stallholder favourites, fresh produce, festive goods and family fun.

“It’s more important than ever for our Market customers to come and shop with us for their Summer produce at that Market as the farmers and growers have so much beautiful fresh produce and are unable to trade at EPIC at this key time of year.

“We welcome everyone will join us for the Markets’ Away Game, and over the coming months

as we bring you the freshest seafood, cherries, stone fruit, berries, and salad greens straight from local farms. Plus, special events, new locations, and all the festive magic of shopping local across the summer,” Sarah concluded.
