Canberrans have the best opportunity to fill their Christmas Day with the freshest in local and regional food with the Capital Region Farmers Market announcing they will open on Christmas Eve, Saturday 24th December.

“It’s the pick of the draw with the way the dates have aligned this year meaning we can operate our regular Saturday morning Market as close as possible to the big day,” said Capital Region Farmers Market Manager, Sarah Power.

“Our farmers, producers and makers will bring the best of their in-season foods and festive treats to ensure Canberrans have access to the best and freshest food to create their Christmas feasts, fill their tables and their Christmas guests’ tummies,” she continued.

Following the huge success that was the Markets’ Away Game on Saturday 26th November which saw over 70 stallholders head out to GIO Stadium for one day only to accommodate the Spilt Milk Festival, the Markets have now returned to their regular location at EPIC.

“In these next few weeks we will have an amazing array of Christmas season produce including fresh seafood from the NSW South Coast, cherries and stone fruit, hams, poultry and smallgoods, farm fresh vegetables, sweet treats including Christmas puddings and fruit mince tarts.

“We’ll also have real Christmas trees for those wanting to decorate for Christmas, but we recommend you get in quick for those!

“The Market will also have all the staples you need to sustain you through the Christmas and New year period including honey and fresh free range eggs. We hope the locals will be in to support our farmers a few more times before we farewell 2022,” Sarah concluded.

There are just three Market dates left for the remainder of 2022, with the Market opening at Exhibition Park in Canberra on Saturday 10th, Saturday 17th and then the special Christmas Eve Market on Saturday 24th December. All Markets 7.00 – 11.30am. For more information visit www.capitalregionfarmersmarket.com.au
