Canberra’s favourite farmers Market, Capital Region Farmers Market, is the best place to buy the freshest new-season cherries and will next weekend pay homage to the festive fruit with a special theme day – A Very Cherry Market.
“They’re here! Year after year cherries gain so much attention at Market. They just seem to really make people happy with their deep glossy reds that herald that it’s almost summer and that the festive season is nearly here,” said Capital Region Farmers Market Manager, Sarah Power.
“Capital Region Farmers Market is the best place to buy the best and freshest cherries from the Canberra region – not only do these beauties look lovely, they’re plump, juicy, fresh and come direct from the growers. We just love our cherries, and we know our customers do too!” Sarah continued.
Taking place on Saturday 23rd November 2024, A Very Cherry Market will highlight our region’s dedicated cherry growers and all the delicious cherry products they bring with them to Market including cherry jams, sauces and mouth-watering baked goods.
Along with the best cherries direct from the growers, A Very Cherry Market will also include a cherry pip spitting competition for the kids from 9-11am, festival organisers from the Young Cherry Festival, and the chance to win from the Market’s cherry-go-round – customers can grab a ticket from the Market entry points for the chance to win a box of cherries, with four boxes given away, one every hour.
“We’ll have succulent cherries direct from our growers including Hill Lock Orchard, Thornbrook Orchard, Jafaries Produce and Drive In Orchards, and our growers cant wait to share the bounty of the season with our locals,” Sarah concluded.
A Very Cherry Market is on Saturday 23rd November, 7am-11.30am at Exhibition Park in Canberra. For more information, visit www.capitalregionfarmersmarket.com.au
