Canberra Girls Grammar School (CGGS) is happy to announce that its national and international search for a new School Principal has concluded.

Mrs Anna Owen, currently the Deputy Principal of Brisbane Girls Grammar School (BGGS), will commence as Principal at the beginning of the 2019 academic year. Mrs Owen has held the position of Deputy Principal at BGGS for five years and has held senior positions at a number of other schools.

Upon receiving confirmation of her appointment, Mrs Owen said, “I am honoured to be appointed the 15th Principal of Canberra Girls Grammar School. I am a strong believer in girls’ education and look forward to leading a century old community that is actively working to create a world where anything is possible for young women.”

Belinda Moss, Chair of the CGGS Board, said,

“Anna is an inspiring contemporary educator.  Her breadth of experience, energy and passion for empowering young women make her an ideal fit to lead Canberra Girls Grammar School.

“With a background in Science, Anna holds a Masters of Science degree. She has also completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course and is part way through an MBA. She is also a keen sports woman and especially enjoys triathlon.

“I and the rest of our vibrant school community look forward to welcoming her next year.”

Once the Queensland school year concludes, Mrs Owen and her family will begin the process of moving to the ACT.
