Media Release – 9 November 2010

The Old Bus Depot Markets will transform into a giant jewellery box of trinkets and treasures at the annual Jewel of Canberra theme day this coming Sunday, 14 November.

Jewel of Canberra will showcase exquisite works from over 30 of some of the best jewellery designers and artists from the region.

The range of jewellery will include exquisite brooches, earrings and pendants made from silver and titanium, Swarovski crystal and semi-precious stone necklaces, organic pebble based neck pieces, millefiori beads, precious gemstones set in gold and silver, pearls, fabric brooches, mens cufflinks and much more.

“People can browse for gorgeous one-off pieces that are quite different to mass produced jewellery you find in the stores. These designers are using some very unusual techniques with mixed media and fresh approaches to colour,” Old Bus Depot Markets owner, Morna Whiting said.

Jewel of Canberra is a free event, open at the Old Bus Depot Markets from 10am until 4pm this Sunday. For more information visit www.obdm.com.au
