Can anyone believe we’re already a quarter of the way through 2021? This time last year, we were all just coming to terms with what a pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns would mean for us all. In this month’s Threesides Wrap we reflect on a Big Night Out with our friends Menslink, highlight a Google update you probably missed, provide some tips on influencer marketing, and we help Canberrans stay warm over winter with the recently launched website we created for Voltair Airconditioning.

Google quietly retires tCPA and tROAS bidding strategies

About a month ago on February 23, Google quietly posted to their developer blog that they are retiring Target Cost-Per-Action (tCPA) and Target Return-On-Ad-Spend (tROAS) bidding strategies, instead layering a tCPA and tROAS threshold with Maximise Conversions and Maximise Conversions Value respectively.

Although Google hasn’t stated when tCPA and tROAS will be retired, some advertisers will start seeing these changes in April 2021. If you would like us to explain what this mean for you, get in touch with our digital team and we’ll be happy to talk you through it.

How to grow your online influence

If you’re thinking about how to effectively partner with influencers for your next campaign, the first thing you need to do is ask yourself, “who am I trying to influence?”

Knowing your audience and where they spend time online and get their information from is important. You need to consider the best approach for your goals, as a local influencer with a very relevant audience might actually yield better results than a national celebrity that doesn’t understand your brand.

If you want to find out more about influencer marketing, check out this recent blog from Social media Examiner’s Michael Stelzner, or read the Threesides blog on the topic written by Media and Public Relations Manager Lauren Griffiths from last year.

Threesides has a Big Night Out with Menslink

The Threesides team want to send a massive thank you to Menslink who put on a fantastic Big Night Out on Friday 26 March. The event is their main annual fundraising event and was especially important after last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic. The night was capped off with the main charity auction, which raised important funds which ultimately means more young blokes who are asking for help will be able to be supported through 2021.

If you’re looking for some advice on how to get the most out of your marketing in 2021, get in touch with the Threesides team on (02) 6249 1117.
