The Wrap: October 2021

Blog by October 26, 2021

Canberra is now emerging from the lockdown many of us thought we had avoided, this time secure in the knowledge our community has banded together to become one of, and possibly, the most vaccinated cities in the world.

Threesiders have been making a very gradual return to the office, with all of us back in Dickson by mid-November. It’s an exciting time in the Territory, and there’s a buzz around town about the possibilities of summer.

In this month’s Wrap, we check in on our friends coming out of lockdown, look into Facebook’s latest round of updates, sample the new Underground gin, and promote the perks of advertising on Pinterest.

The Gallery of Small Thingsrun by artist Anne Masters is the smallest art gallery in Canberra, and it is reopening on the 29th of October. You can visit the current exhibition featuring Jodie Cunningham’s bright and lively artworks or pick up a few early Christmas presents from various artists in her online store.

Facebook updates you may have missed

If you feel like you’ve been hearing more about Facebook updates lately, it’s probably because their updates have been flowing in thick and fast since the end of August. The latest features that have been announced include new products for personalisation, a Business Suite update, and new features for Messenger.

Want to find out what these changes will mean for your scrolling experience? You can read all about Facebook’s latest updates in this story by Ana Gotter for AdEspresso.

The Future of Cocktails is here

‘The Future of Cocktails’ is a creative collaboration between Underground Spirits, Contentious Character Winery and The Martini Whisperer. Each pack contains all the ingredients to make the perfect ‘Sunset Forage’ cocktail and you have access to an eloquent video, fashioning the entire cocktail experience as something to enjoy, have fun and learn!

Have you considered advertising on Pinterest?

Online advertising isn’t all about Facebook and Google; there are other major players in the game that can help you reach markets your traditional advertising doesn’t touch.

People use Pinterest like a search engine, searching for inspiration and new products, often without having a particular product or brand in mind. And while you might consider Pinterest a place for women, today nearly 40% of users are men.

If you’re curious, read Threesides very own blog on how to Grow your Brand with Pinterest Marketing, or check out Michael Stelzner’s article for the Social Media Examiner, where he gives advice for getting started advertising on Pinterest.
