MEDIA RELEASE – 7 October 2010

Visitors to the popular Old Bus Depot Markets upcoming theme day, Green Savvy Sunday, have the chance to win a cuppa with famed author and backyard sustainability guru, Jackie French.

“Visitors to the market often remark that there’s nothing better than a nice relaxing hot coffee or cup of tea and a chat with friends after a morning shopping ,” said Old Bus Depot Markets co-owner, Morna Whiting.

“So we thought, what if that cuppa was spent with someone that you really admired, like Jackie French, ” she continued.

Jackie is taking part in the inaugural Green Savvy Sunday on Sunday October 17. The day will feature green groups and speakers who can talk to market visitors about green smart alternatives for living, plus food and wine, jewellery, fashion, craft, clothing, skin care and more – all following the themes of recycle, reuse and low use of energy. For those keen on learning more, the markets will also include an all day speakers program called Green Savvy Speakers, headlined by Jackie French.

“The public are invited to enter our competition to meet with Jackie to talk about everything from food, to gardening, and how to make life and backyards more sustainable.

“To win a cuppa with Jackie French on Sunday 17 October, and a signed copy of her Backyard Self-sufficiency book, all you have to do is log onto our website and post one thing that you love about your backyard,” Ms Whiting concluded.

The competition closes on Thursday 14 October. For more information, terms and conditions go to www.obdm.com.au/news-events/green-savvy-sunday/
