Media Release – Wednesday 31 July 2013
The best of the Hilltops Wine Region’s premium wines and fresh regional food will be celebrated at the 2013 Annual Wine Dinner to be held on Saturday 24 August.
The dinner is a ticketed event open to the public and will be hosted by celebrity chef and TV personality Lyndey Milan with special guest hosts, wine gurus Tyson Stelzer and Tim Kirk. The dinner will be held at the Young Town Hall from 6pm.
Less than two hours from Canberra, the Hilltops wine region of Young, Boorowa and Harden is being increasingly recognised for its high quality cool climate wines and its delicious fresh produce.
“The annual wine dinner is a culinary celebration of what our region has to offer, together with a fabulous selection of Hilltops wines,” said Peter Creyke, Chairman of the Hilltops Wine Committee.
The Greek-themed menu has been developed by Lyndey Milan and includes such delicacies as pork keftedes, spezofai using alpaca sausages, and orange and olive oil cake with spice syrup.
The international flavour continues the next day, with several of the region’s cellar doors offering special themed lunch menus including Irish at Ballinaclash, Indian at Grove Estate, French at Chalkers Crossing, Italian at Freemans Vineyard, Australian at Bluestill Café and Gallery presented by Lockwood Wines and Trandari Wines, and a light lunch at Woodonga Hill Winery.
“With some great accommodation packages available, you can spend the weekend enjoying an international taste tour, right here in the Hilltops region of NSW,” continued Peter.
The ticket price includes a one hour tasting, all wines, talks and the four course dinner. To book tickets and accommodation packages visit www.hilltops.com.au
