Media Release – 7 December 2011

The award-winning Old Bus Depot Markets will continue their 2011 Christmas Markets
with a huge weekend planned for Saturday and Sunday 17 and 18 December. At this market visitors will find a myriad of original, recycled and collectable gift ideas.

“In addition to our usual handcrafted and original gift ideas, our Christmas Market coming up on 17 and 18 December will offer people the chance to select gifts from recycled and collectable items” said Old Bus Depot Markets Co-owner, Diane Hinds

“At this time of year, the mass produced gifts you find in busy shopping centres start to all look the same, and it can be hard to find that certain something for your loved one, family or friends.

“On 17 and 18 December our Christmas Market offers everything from mid-century Scandanavian glass and ceramics, to antique jewellery, so you have a good chance of finding something really unique,” she continued.

Other recycled and collectable items for sale will include silver candlesticks for the Christmas table, funky and colourful art glass vases and all sorts of quirky collectables. Plus the market will also have the most beautifully shaped fresh Christmas trees in Canberra.

The Old Bus Depot Markets will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday 10 and 11 December, 17 and 18 December and Christmas Eve, Saturday 24 December. Entry is free. For more information visit www.obdm.com.au
