Thredbo has recorded record snow making results after a very cold start to the opening of the 2010 Snow Season on the June long weekend – and if you want to get in on the action, book a stay at the Lantern Apartments now.
“Fortunately we had successive record nights of snow production over the opening weekend of the season,” said Ian Foster, General Manager of The Lantern Property Group.
“The fresh snow has not gone to waste with plenty of skiers and boarders of all standards hitting the hills for some opening season turns,” he said.

The Snow Making system in Thredbo is the largest in the southern hemisphere and the resort recently spent millions of dollars upgrading the system to the latest in automated hydrant technology. In the first two weeks that the system was switched on for winter 2010, it produced a whopping 25% of the forecasted snow output for the whole season!
Runs currently open in the resort include Walkabout and Ballroom on Merrit’s Cruiser chairlift, Easy Does it on Friday Flat and High Noon on the Gunbarrel Chairlift.
