MEDIA RELEASE – 30 March 2010

This Easter Sunday, Sunday 4 April, take a stroll down Portobello Road at the Old Bus Depot Markets and see the antiques and collectables this distinctive themed day has become synonymous with.

Visitors can browse the aisles of eclectic and interesting treasures. There will be retro decorative art, antique jewellery, quirky collectables, china and art glass, linens and lace, silver, and restored pieces. The fun is in the search and there will be plenty to choose from.

The Market will feature Russell Brooks, a Sydney antique and collectables dealer who’s coming to Canberra especially to exhibit at Portobello Road. They’ll have an eclectic mix on offer including Vintage jewellery from the 1950’s and 1960s, retro ceramics and metalware, art Murano glass, 1970’s lava lamps, 1960’s pottery lamps and retro funky telephones. Russell Brooks is also one of Australia’s leading dealers in Parisian Lea Stein 1960’s jewellery which is collected all over the world, and specialists in German pottery.

Located in the Old Bus Depot Building on the Kingston Foreshore, Canberra’s only indoor markets have a contemporary urban feel and promise a truly sensory experience for locals and tourists alike. Lunch is a difficult choice with multicultural food from around the world and great espresso.

The Old Bus Depot Markets are open every Sunday from 10am – 4pm. More information available at www.obdm.com.au
