Visitors to this year’s Floriade in Commonwealth Park, Canberra, are invited to clink their glasses together in the spring sunshine at Underground Spirits’ Clink! Gin Garden which will provide a range of gin-filled experiences for the duration of Floriade, 17th September – 16th October 2022.
“We are so excited to be back for in-person events after two years’ break for Floriade in Commonwealth Park. It’s an achievement worth really celebrating after a challenging two years for events all over the country,” said Underground Spirits’ CEO, Claudia Roughley.
“And what’s better than savouring the moment with your friends clinking your glasses together, and sipping on a few gins amongst the gardens,” Claudia continued.
Clink! will offer a sophisticated gin garden bar as the centrepiece for Underground’s onsite display surrounded in garden beds highlighting seasonal spring gin garnishes including rosemary and Tasmanian Pepperberry. To follow Floriade’s theme of Sounds of Spring, Underground Spirits has composed a series of bookable experiences highlighting a Melody of Gin.
Cocktail Melody will offer guests a leading note cocktail featuring Underground’s gin of the week as a self-guided experience which also provides a taste of the featured gin paired with Fever-Tree mixer of choice and garnish. Small bites of nibbles to savour are included along with tasting notes. Different dates and session times apply.
Composer Sessions offer guests the chance to hear the stories of Underground’s collaborative gin with a different session each week highlighting the works of POP Canberra, Canberra Raiders, Pialligo Estate and Australian National Botanic Gardens. Different dates and session times also apply.
“Each Sunday we’re welcoming guests for a Clink! Cocktails workshop to learn how to make two beautiful cocktails, discover assorted mixing techniques and get the inside tips and tricks of bartending.
“And if you can’t make one of special bookable experiences, we welcome everyone to the Gin Garden for our Gin Melody – a choose-your-own gin adventure so you can make four mini G&T’s, or Sip & Sing – your choice of gin served in our banded reusable cup. It’s going to be a lot of gin-filled fun at Clink!” Claudia concluded.
