The Australian Maths Trust (AMT) and Optiver are proud to announce the extension of Optiver’s support, which will include the recently selected Australian team and enabling them to attend the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics.
Optiver currently supports the Australian teams that attend the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) and the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) and has done so since 2016.
“Following on from the success of our EGMO initiative which started in 2018, we are excited to once again be supporting young women who wish to pursue excellence in informatics. It is wonderful that Optiver will continue to support these young women, helping to address the significant gender disparity and to develop skills in problem solving and computer science. We look forward to continuing to work with Optiver on these important programs,” said Nathan Ford, CEO Australian Maths Trust.
“Through our continued support for initiatives such as EGOI and the AMT, Optiver is proud to support Australia’s female talent in these important international competitions, and to also promote tangible career pathways and real-world opportunities for future generations of female STEM leaders,” said Natalie Nicholson, Chief People Officer at Optiver.
“These talented young women have worked very hard to rise to this level of excellence. We wish the team the best success in the upcoming Olympiad, and hope they enjoy this unique experience in the Netherlands in July 2024,” concluded Ms Nicholson.
Optiver is the National sponsor of the Australian Informatics and Mathematical Olympiad programs, with this partnership extension operating for the next two (2) program cycles (2024 and 2025).
