A new website providing a range of deals and packages has just made it easier for all Australians to see the extraordinary exhibition, Masterpieces from Paris: Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne & beyond at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.
Open from 4 December 2009 to 5 April 2010 Masterpieces from Paris features 112 Post-impressionist works from the Musée d’Orsay, one of the great museums of 19th-century art.
There will be no need to travel to Paris to see major and numerous works by Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Paul Cézanne, Georges Seurat, Pierre Bonnard, Claude Monet, Maurice Denis, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec and Édouard Vuillard – for four months you can visit them in Canberra.
By logging on to the site www.visitcanberra.com.au/paris, you can choose from a range of hotel deals and packages. This site has been developed by Australian Capital Tourism in partnership with the National Gallery of Australia to provide easy access to accommodation and ticket packages and information on broader Canberra region tourism offers.
The site offers packages from 14 Canberra hotels ranging from 3.5 – 5 star including:
- Hyatt Hotel Canberra, 5 star – Masterpieces from Paris from $345 per night. Package includes overnight accommodation in a luxurious Park Room, full buffet breakfast for two in the Promenade Café and two tickets to the exhibition.
- Novotel Canberra, 4.5 star – Musee d’Orsay Exhibition from $220 per night. Package includes buffet breakfast and two tickets to the exhibition.
- Forrest Hotel and Apartments, 3.5 star – Masterpieces from Paris from $220 per night. Package includes overnight accommodation, full hot buffet breakfast for two, two adult tickets to the exhibition and a bottle of wine per room.
