Media Release – Wednesday 3 July 2013

The Old Bus Depot Markets will honour Canberra’s Centenary at the annual Creative Fibre event on Sunday 14 July with the sale of limited edition Canberra Centenary t-shirts created by some of their most talented stallholders – Planet Boab and Rokoko.

Two of the markets’ most talented screen printers, have worked in collaboration and will be launching the Canberra Centenary organic t-shirts at Creative Fibre.

“The design is called Walter & Marion and is inspired by the original architectural designs for the city and the relationship between the two Griffins,” said Diane Hinds, Director of the Old Bus Depot Markets.

“We are so lucky to have met so many creative people through the markets. They have taken the time to make this beautifully designed t-shirt to celebrate our city, and are spoiling our market customers with the first chance to buy them at Creative Fibre,” Ms Hinds continued.

The limited edition Walter & Marion organic cotton t-shirts will be available in short, long and three quarter sleeve options in three colours. They will be launched at Creative Fibre at the markets on 14 July where Planet Boab and Rokoko will have adjoining stalls, and afterwards they will be available online at www.planetboab.com.au

Creative Fibre will feature some of the country’s most talented textile artists and designers who will be showcasing and selling their handcrafted wares, from hand dyed fabric prints and yarns, to baskets, weavings, embroidery and more.

Creative Fibre at the Old Bus Depot Markets will be open Sunday 14 July 2013 from 10am – 4pm and entry is free. For more information visit www.obdm.com.au
