With just ten Sundays to go until Christmas Day, Canberra’s favourite Sunday markets, the Old Bus Depot Markets, are getting ready to host their popular Christmas markets, on throughout the month of December.

“The Christmas markets are always very popular as we’ve got so many Christmas themed gifts, decorations and food to really get visitors into the Christmas spirit,” said Old Bus Depot Markets’ Director, Diane Hinds.

“The place buzzes with a really Christmassy feel and it’s a great alternative to traditional shopping centres, department stores and online shopping for Christmas. You can enjoy the seasonal atmosphere and often meet the friendly people who’ve actually handmade your Christmas goodies themselves,” Diane continued.

The Old Bus Depot Markets’ Christmas markets will feature handmade gifts and festive items including Christmas wreaths, decorations, table centrepieces, candles, stockings and advent calendars. Live Christmas trees are also an annual favourite, and modern handmade wooden Christmas trees offer an alternative you can style for your own home.

And the food, the glorious Christmas food. The markets will offer delicious Christmas fare including cakes, gingerbread houses, mince tarts, puddings, shortbread, party dips, farmhouse cheeses, olives and more.

“This year you’ll find a variety of brand new Christmas stallholders, delicious fresh Christmas foods and, to welcome in the silly season in true Christmas spirit style, the Annual Christmas Stallholder Sale on Saturday 5th December,” Diane continued.

At the annual Christmas Stallholder sale markets’ stallholders will be offering exclusive specials and fantastic deals – it’s a great chance for visitors to stock up on everything they need for the festive season.

Usually a Sunday-only affair, the markets will be open on both Saturdays and Sundays throughout December in the lead up to Christmas Day. This gives more time for customers to find what they’re looking for, and more opportunity for the many stallholders to spread the Christmas cheer.

“We just can’t wait for our Christmas markets and really look forward to sharing the Christmas spirit with all of our visitors throughout December,” Diane concluded.

Christmas at the Old Bus Depot Markets will be open Saturday 5 (stallholder sale) and Sunday 6 December, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December, and Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free. For more information visit www.obdm.com.au
