MEDIA RELEASE – 28 October 2010

Discover how good Christmas shopping can be at the Old Bus Depot Markets’ Christmas Markets. Canberra’s popular Sunday markets will be open every Saturday and Sunday in the lead up to Christmas, promising original, handmade gifts for your loved ones, and all within a vibrant market buzzing with the Christmas spirit.

“Forget crowded shopping malls full of the same people buying the same mass-produced gifts. Our Christmas Markets are about how Christmas shopping is meant to be – real gifts made for real people,” said Old Bus Depot Markets owner, Morna Whiting.

“We offer a fantastic festive atmosphere, music and colourful characters so your shopping experience is actually enjoyable. And you can really get Christmassy with our special Christmas wreath making demonstrations on Saturday 4th December,” she continued.

At the Christmas Markets visitors can browse and buy beautifully handcrafted, personalised homewares and gifts, scrumptious Christmas fare such as gingerbread houses, cakes and cherries, gifts for the table and the tree, personalised baubles, exquisite hand carved decorations, live Christmas trees, art, soaps and plenty of stocking stuffers.
