Canberra Medicare Mental Health Centre

Canberra Medicare Mental Health Centre (CMMHC) is a free service that connects Canberrans with mental health support. Formerly known as Canberra Head to Health, the centre underwent a rebrand in late 2024 to align with the Australian Government’s roll out of free mental health centres across Australia under the Medicare brand.

New and existing service users continue to receive the same free, high-quality, compassionate mental health care with no appointment, no referral and no Medicare card needed. CMMHC provides walk-in, phone or call-back services and is operated by the private clinic, Think Mental Health, in partnership with Capital Health Network.

CMMHC’s marketing goals

  • Communicate the rebrand from Head to Health to CMMHC to the Canberra community
  • Increased awareness in the Canberra community – amongst the general public, GPs and health practitioners – to grow the intake and referrals
  • Grow the number of calls to the 1800 service number
  • Achieve consistent signups for Group Programs

Our approach

Threesides have had a close working relationship with the team at Think Mental Health since they were contracted as service provider for Head to Health in 2022 (now CMMHC). Kicking off with an overall Marketing Strategy which included media and PR around the service launch, along with outreach to GPs and the health sector, website creation and digital advertising, we have continued to promote the services offered via onsite attendance at university open days, outreach with the medical profession, and tactics to grow the community for CMMHC including social media, digital advertising and email marketing

Most recently, we have assisted CMMHC with their full rebrand which has included a website redesign, design elements for the physical space, visual branding assets including signage, posters and flyers, outreach to medical professionals, media and ministerial liaison around the centre opening, social media and new digital advertising campaign.
