As the holiday season approaches, it’s the perfect time to capitalise on the festive spirit and connect with your audience in meaningful ways. To help you stand out, here are seven super easy holiday campaign ideas for December 2025.
1. Run a festive giveaway or contest
People love freebies and the chance to win something special so what about hosting a “12 Days of Giveaways” campaign where you give away a small prize each day leading up to Christmas.
All they have to do for a chance to win is tag a friend, share your post, and/or comment their favourite holiday tradition to enter. If you can partner with complementary brands to expand your reach, even better!
2. Share behind-the-scenes Christmas festivities
Audiences enjoy authentic, relatable content that humanises your brand. At Threesides, we record a quick video after our office elves have visited to decorate the office and we’ll continue to share behind-the-scenes snaps from our Christmas Party and the weird and wonderful gifts we sourced from charity shops for our Secret Santa gifts.
3. Get personal – share something from the team
Sharing favourite destinations, what’s on your reading lists or favourite cocktail recipes for the festive season are easy ways to engage your team and get your audience to connect with your brand.
4. Create interactive content with a Christmas twist
Interactive posts encourage followers to engage with your content instead of simply scrolling past. Use Instagram or Facebook polls to invite holiday-themed interactions with questions like “Which is better: gingerbread or fruitcake?” “Aussie Xmas Lunch – should it be hot or cold?” or “What’s the best Christmas movie of all time?”
5. Highlight holiday deals and promotions
The Black Friday sales may be over, but holiday promotions don’t have to be. Limited time offers create a sense of urgency and encourage immediate action. Announce flash sales with festive graphics and countdown timers in stories or posts, or use carousel ads to showcase multiple products with a “Shop the Holiday Collection” theme.
6. Launch a “Pay It Forward” campaign
During the season of giving, customers love supporting brands that make a positive impact. Share stories of how your business or customers are giving back this holiday season. For example, this year instead of a donation to one charity, each Threesider picked a charity that was close to their hearts, and Threesides will donate to that charity on their behalf and in lieu of client gifts. Not only will each team member be profiled on our socials, but we’ll also be raising the profile of some wonderful charities.
7. Embrace nostalgia
Holidays are a time of reflection, and nostalgia connects emotionally with your audience. Often the Threesides Christmas Card and social posts at this time of the year are based on retro-themes or nostalgic vibes.
Last year it was Threesides Smash Hits based on the Smash Hits 87 album cover, and included a Spotify playlist, in 2019 it was “Connect 3”, an homage to everyone’s favourite childhood game. Another year we recreated “vintage” holiday snaps with team members superimposed on some very awkward photos from the 70s.
This holiday season, make your social media channels a hub of festive excitement, creativity, and connection. With the right campaigns, you can spread holiday cheer while growing your brand. Now, it’s time to put on your Santa hat and get those campaigns rolling!
