WhatsApp has announced that it will be sharing its user’s data with Facebook in order to provide another avenue for brands to connect with consumers. However, many WhatsApp users have voiced their concerns about privacy, presenting the possibility of turning away audiences rather than engaging them. It seems like data sharing will become the norm, as Facebook says it’s keen to use a similar process with Messenger.

The new tool from IG allows users to ‘share all the moments of the day, not just the ones you want to keep on your profile.’ It seems that Instagram has decided to make this move to please users (especially brands, companies, and organisations) who like to keep aesthetically pleasing uniform themes across their grids. We’re wondering if sponsored Instagram stories will be brought into the equation.

Even though the Olympics is done and dusted for another four years, we can’t help but mention that the Seven network and Samsung’s partnership to deliver 360 VR content is pretty cool – it also further proves that video as social content is the way to go.
