Canberra’s Old Bus Depot Markets show how everything old is new again, well back in fashion at the very least, at their popular Retro Depot in October event on Sunday 11 October.

“If you love the bright colours of the 60s and 70s, mid-century furniture, funky retro clothing, and macramé, this is the markets day for you,” said Diane Hinds, Director of the Old Bus Depot Markets.

“Retro Depot in October is our last retro event for 2015, and market-goers can expect a celebration of all things retro cool. Find your groove browsing fashion, homewares, furniture, jewellery and accessories that evoke a sense of times gone by, and see just how great these things look in today’s world,” Diane continued.

Local Annette Boyd, from Annette Boyd Art and Design, is taking part in Retro Depot in October showcasing her handmade macramé. Annette uses natural materials to create beautiful handmade macramé sculptures, hanging pots and kooky owls. The macramé hanging pot holders are particularly popular at Retro Depot as they’re made in bright 60s colours, and are very much on trend right now.

Retro Depot in October will feature many other retro themed stallholders such as old favourite Irena McKillop of Ritzy Bits, who is on board again with her quality retro pieces including quality mid-century furniture.

“We love seeing our fabulous stallholders bringing out all these amazing items from times gone by. Retro items can often spark fond memories, and can also look great in the homes of today,” Diane concluded.

Retro Depot in October will be open Sunday 11 October from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free. For more information on the Old Bus Depot Markets go to www.obdm.com.au
