November is the time the Old Bus Depot Markets transform into a giant jewellery box of sorts, celebrating the amazing local and regional jewellery makers and designers at Jewel of Canberra on Sunday 8 November.

“This is the day to come and browse the many jewellery stalls and find a unique handcrafted piece of jewellery,” said Old Bus Depot Markets Director, Morna Whiting.

“Discover jewellery made from silver, recycled metal, pearls, precious and semi-precious stones, resin, glass, ceramics and more. There will be a big range of styles, price points and one-off pieces,” Morna continued.

Local Canberra jewellery maker, Brenda Clough, designs and hand makes all of her jewellery and will have a range of sterling silver, fine silver and niobium pieces available at Jewel of Canberra – the latter being a type of metal that Brenda anodises to produce different colours. Her popular pieces, which are sometimes highlighted with nine carat gold, include pendants, necklaces, earrings, bangles and rings.

And another Canberra jewellery maker, Sara Hogwood, is making her market debut at Jewel of Canberra with her bopdotz range. Sara creates stunning ring pendants, stacking rings and earrings from sterling silver. Her pieces are inspired by minimalist design, Scandanavian interiors, simple spaces and clean lines.

“Come to the markets to find yourself a unique handcrafted piece of jewellery that will make you really stand out from the crowd,” Morna concluded.

Jewel of Canberra is on at the Old Bus Depot Markets on Sunday 8 November from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free. For more information visit www.obdm.com.au
