MEDIA RELEASE – 11 November 2009

It’s that time of year again. Time to get your tastebuds ready for an assortment of tantalising flavours at Savour, the National Capital Food, Wine & Beverage Expo.

On Sunday 15 November (public event) and Monday 16 November (trade only) Canberra’s National Convention Centre will overflow with 80 exhibitors showcasing the finest beer, wine, spirits and food from the region and across Australia.

“At Savour, Canberrans and visitors can meet industry leading wine, beer and food experts for tastings, gourmet delights, and master classes,” said Expo Director, Vaughan Peters.

“The entire Exhibition Hall of the National Convention Centre will be brimming with the finest food and wine from the region and across Australia – and this event is more than just a tasting plate and a spit bucket,” Mr Peters continued.

In 2009 Savour will feature food and wine matching and information sessions, cooking demonstrations by local chef Tom Moore from Grazing, local and national food and wine producers, Wyndham Estate’s mobile cellar door and the Carlton Breweries Beer Academy.

“Visitors can pop into the all-weather food and wine marquee where three of Canberra’s great restaurants will create meals matched to a glass of wine or beer. For just $15, they can select the food and wine combo that they want while listening to the soothing sounds of a live jazz band.

Savour is a ticketed event for over 18s only, and supports the responsible service and consumption of alcohol. The entry ticket includes a special Savour Expo souvenir tasting glass and show bag.

10am – 4.30pm each day on Sunday 15 November (public event) and Monday 16 November (trade only event). Savour supports Camp Quality.
