Media Alert – 12 July 2011

The Old Bus Depot Markets will host its unique creative theme day, Creative Fibre, this coming Sunday, 17 July.

Now in its eighth year, and with around thirty extra stallholders who come especially to exhibit at the Creative Fibre event, it’s a favourite for anyone with an interest in textile arts.

Textile artists from Canberra and the surrounding region will come together to showcase their talents including screen printing on fabrics, weaving, embroidery, design, felting, knitting, hand dyeing and spinning.

At Creative Fibre visitors can speak to the artist about their textile speciality and learn about the processes involved. Regional educational offerings will be presented and Canberra Textile related Guilds will demonstrate on the day and be available to answer questions.

The Old Bus Depot Markets are open every Sunday from 10am – 4pm. More information available at www.obdm.com.au
