MEDIA RELEASE – 8 October 2009

Country Guesthouse Schönegg has just been announced the state winner for the ACT in the 2009 TakeABreak Awards. The award was announced last Thursday, 1 October, and was won for the category of Hosted Accommodation.

Country Guesthouse Schönegg owner and operator, Richard Everson, is pleased with his most recent award win. “Since we opened in 2003, we have established a reputation for excellence and have won multiple tourism awards and industry accreditation,” Mr Everson said.

“This latest award is a great win for us as it was nominated by guests who have actually stayed with us at Country Guesthouse Schönegg,” he said.

The awards are run by Australia’s only independent boutique accommodation travel site, TakeABreak.com.au and recognise outstanding service in specialist segment categories. Entrants were judged on relevance to the category, information provided to guests, services provided and personal guest feedback.

“Considering the high calibre of entrants and the fact that TakeABreak recognise holiday accommodation properties from over 1400 localities, Country Guesthouse Schönegg is proud to have collected this award,” said Mr Everson.

Country Guesthouse Schönegg offers quality accommodation, a licensed restaurant and function facilities in the heart of the Murrumbateman cool climate wine district, located just 30 minutes from Canberra. Richard and Evelyn Everson are renowned for their generous hospitality and fine food which have helped make them a multi award-winning business.

The Eversons collected the award for Hosted Accommodation at the 2008 Canberra and Capital Region Tourism Awards, their 8th major tourism award, and eagerly await the result of their next awards entry at the 2009 Canberra and Region Tourism Awards to be held at the National Convention Centre on 26 November 2009.
