One of Canberra’s most iconic streets, Lonsdale Street in Braddon, has welcomed a new café to the neighbourhood, with the new On Lonsdale. On Lonsdale owners Lachlan Exton and Maheer Prasad, together with their Chef Cho Yoon – the same team behind Dickson’s refreshed cafe Highroad, opened On Lonsdale in November 2024.
Their point of difference is the sando – Korean-inspired sandos with a blend of both traditional and innovative flavours with cloud-like shokupan milk bread baked locally in nearby Dickson. All sandos are packed with locally sourced ingredients and include such tasty offerings as Nanban Chicken Sando (soft-fried sweet soy chicken, chunky tartare and yuzu aioli); Seoul Bulgogi Sando (all beef bulgogi patty, Ssamjang, soy-pickled onion and garlic chips); and Sando-O-Fish (house-made fish patty, American cheddar, chunky tartare, lettuce, dill pickle and yuzu aioli). On Lonsdale also serves award-winning ONA Coffee and other delicious morsels for breakfast and lunch including rice bowls, poke bowls and interesting sides including ‘Shake On’ Lonsdale chips.
