Cherry pip spitting contests, lively street parades, spectacular fireworks and quality live music are just some of the activities on offer as part of the 63rd National Cherry Festival, to be held from Friday 30 November to Sunday 2 December 2012 in Young, NSW.
Since its inception more than 60 years ago, the National Cherry Festival has grown to be the highlight of the region’s events calendar, with locals and interstate visitors alike descending upon the town to soak up the dynamic atmosphere and fun-for-all-ages entertainment.
This year’s theme — celebrating the Australian Year of the Farmer — ensures a range of attractions highlighting Young’s role as the ‘Cherry Capital of Australia’, as well as other types of food, wine and fibre coming from the hilltops region.
